And very reasonably priced too! £7.50 for him and an excellent dark elf hero (the rank and file are £7.00) As UncEvl on Frothers pointed out to me, Rackham would prob charge something like £15 for this sort of thing.

But anyway... as Inso and I were chatting about on Saturday, I'm not really into gore and blood on bases (he aleady has two severed heads attached to the saddle. He's probably just going to have a plain base, I'm afraid!

That's not a bad thing. I only asked because of the amount of space on the base.

Nah sorry Cheddar, I'm going to pass on that idea; he's going to be the mount for an Amazon witch (as you may have guessed from other thread) - no idea what the rider will be yet but I thought I'd get him painted because he's too cool to leave in bits. I undercoaed him today.... which seemed to take forever! So many nooks and crannies that the spray didn't reach!

Check through the Celtos Gale figure's for mounted female's and do a small conversion on one, wouldn't take too much work to do.

There are loads of cool female Gaels, and some riders... but still they're good but they're not right as Roy Walker might say. The closest thing I can find is the witchy woman Balgy's selling me and the dark elf female rider from Freebooter (problem being she's an elf but a headswap might not be beyond my skills... er maybe... and that she's £11! for her and her mount, who's still cool but not as cool as the one I have)

On the plus side, he's now undercoated and I've started on the base colour for his skin.

They'd be very dull, Mike - he's just black and dark brown at the moment  :icon_cool:

OK, the skin is 2 or 3 steps away from completion and I promis the transitions aren't as stark in rl, and some areas will be redone in a contrasting brown.

Harrumph... really not happy with how this is going. My initial undercoat was too think and I think black was the wrong choice. The metallics are also too thick and the detail is messy. I suppose I'll have to strip him now, which is annoying considering how much time I've put in already.

It's a shame to strip him  :icon_sad:, from the pix he looks like he's going OK...but at first hand, I'm sure you know best.  I think the raptor colour is a good choice though.

On a different theme, I'm SO glad that I didn't see these at Salute...I would have bought a handful of them, got them home and thought 'what the hell am I going to do with these?'  They are awesome minis but I'd just have no idea where they would fit in with any of my stuff  :icon_scratch:...Grymn rough riders with pillion heavy gunner?

They are indeed awesome, this chap is the big daddy of the range as he's the hero's mount. I've pressed on and kind of thought "well he's not display, but he'll do for tabletop".

The raptor colour is completely stolen from Roy Duffy's (Duff on Frothers) raptor in his barbarian army.

They would be cool for sci-fi mounts, but the Grymn would need step ladders to mount them!  :icon_razz:
