Well im trying this sculpting bit again. Ive figured if i do a little each night, leave it and do a bit again I can actually finish something and also be a father to my ever demanding son.

The armature and gun are hasslefree.

The details look a hell of a lot softer with the photography, which is a kick in the nads. But need some tips how to tidy this fellow up, and neaten the work.

I followed some previous tips of doing the trousers in one step as per my golgo island friends instructions. Drapery is a witch*.

The bullet proof vest is pissing me off, i think ill sand back the detail and either put pockets on the vest ie a flack jacket. Or just harden it all and make it a featureless Kevlar vest with straps or something.

The H&K needs to be glued into the left hand as well.

Looks good so far, AM   I like the loose feel that you've got on the clothing, much better than I think I could do, anyway!

Ok, update time.

I removed the front belt and lowered it, it didnt look right to the eye. I started on the body armour to add some pouches as per the picture. Still struggling to get crisp detail, but learning heaps.

The boots im moderately happy with, but were a witch* to get as even as they look now.

Been working on the head. They eyes are pissing me off. I think i will cut them out and try again. Im happy enough with the mouth, but the overall result appears stylised. I've perhaps overemphasised the Ski mask look and made it more of a caricature.

Ok. I redid the mask again. I think its more menacing and less gimp like now. More Cobra!!!

The elbows were redone, back of the pants, and sleeves.

Image intensifying goggles and more detail on the boots especially the rear.

Honestly this is up there with a lot of the golgo island stuff.... and as a first shown sculpt that is pretty good IMHO

Update time again.

So i've reworked the trousers and boots a bit more, i wasnt happy with the folds, Ive added the side arm, and some utility pouches and flashlight.

Im actually not sure how to improve without some hands on lessons, so I'll pick some of the local sculptors brains when i get a chance.

Im going to try to finish off his Herman Munster boots by trimming the base of them and making them less platform like.

I think I'll start a new one and incorporate what ive learned into that one.





on closer look at the side arm, ( damn dont you hate how photos show you the flaws more than your fudge*ing eyes in real life.) its a bit squarish. Does it need more shaping of the holster? Would a little removal of the pistol grip in the center make it less blockish?

Looks really good now, AM.  Of course you can see little flaws that I can't see, but I'm sure I'd be happy if I bought a mini of this standard.  Hell, I've painted many that are considerabily worse than this LOL

What are your goals with this chap? To improve your sculpting? To get yourself a mini you want? Just practice? Something else?

Wow, thanks for the feedback.

I think I've been getting hte perfectionist gene a workout, because  a litle part of me is proud, but i want to get better. So all the crits and advice have been great.

I seriously think i need to have a sit down and sculpt session with a good sculptor to improve, get neater and tidier work. But I appreciate the support, thanks guys.

Thanks Mike!  No plans as yet, there was talk of a course in France in october, but can't really justify the expense and time from work. Im nearly on top of my business.. been a long year!
