He DOES look good...but his base is really lacking.  I must be missing something.

i think my pic blurred the base work. to be honest i got a shot of this guy by chance. he certainly didnt jump out at me (but the cabinet was crowded) but on seeing other photos is technically flawless.

flawless but dull and uninteresting to me.

A few conceptual errors.... why does a guy who wears armour 95% of the time and live inside on a spaceship have a deep suntan?

Yeah, technically spotless - but emotionally and artistically sterile IMO. And baldemyr's right about the base - there's just nothing going on there. Okay, so the base shouldn't distract from the figure itself - but this one's just not good at all.

Something about the painting style makes the whole miniature look queerly flat, too - perhaps it's your pic, Stu, or lighting; perhaps it's the colour palette.

On the whole, for a SS winner, it looks a bit meh to me. I've seen much, much better.

Have to agree, it's dull. Technically a great paintjob but dull static and samey.

Becuase of their Melanochromic Organ which provides enhanced protection from radiation.

I feel kinda dirty for knowing that

Because its effects kick in when they're exposed to radiation, and wear off again over time.  And mutations in this organ can have other effects, like amongst the (pre-Heresy) Death Guard Legion, who are albino.

Still feel dirty :icon_wink:

Bad choice of mini. Wonderful paintjob. I think that's the reason.
