this seems to be the best attempt by GW in a long while to crested a self contained boxed game. I love boxed games and intend to keep the set as just that and play fun non competitive games with friends and non gamers alike..... maybe even my daughter.

yes i did and it wasnt really that good.  the minis are noway as good as these ones and much less detailed.

true, the dwarves and gobos are pure crud*, smaller and one peice flash filled garbage, but they do fulfill the purpose (the introduction to WHFB) but as for a mini game of quality, they fall far short of the new WH40K (or what ive seen of it)

Excuse me? Changing the close combat rules twice, making all saves unmodified and removing different movement rates from the profile has made 40k the largest pile of crud* out there. Especial the unmodified saves bit.

yup, minis, but the new rules are pretty good, (not the greatest but good)

And the unmodified armour saves rule is awesome.  Brought me back to the game after years away.



  As for the miniatures....I wont be using the orks so iff someone is an orc player im sure we could make a good deal.

I still can't seem to paint.... 

I think I need some basic simple plane figures to paint that I can do in a day.

I usually find I start messing up if I try and do a single figure all in one go.  I prefer to do bits of different figures, building up bit by bit as I go.  I normally cannot get a detailed vision of a single model in my head before I start, unless I've previously painted something similar, so find I need to do this. Which is the main reason I've painted both the Terminator and the Ork Nob from WD.

When do find I'm having a downer on being able to paint I try assembling minis to be painted later, or just blocking in basic colours on previously assembled minis.  I also find this gives me a leg-up when I do get my mojo back!

I'll post up my Terminator today, and my Ork Nob tomorrow (only because the pics of him aren't on this PC!) and see if they help inspire you, Wristy   You should be able to paint better than me any six days of the week!
