Well this* looks kinda interesting. Apologies if it's been linked to before, it's a sorta re-release.

*Warning, movie link, in case you're at work or summat.

Dammit! Really? Start at the homepage then. The movie's really just the art section set to a suitably martial and eerie piece of music.

Some nice ideas for minis in that lot - reminds me of a lot of the GURPS Cthulupunk stuff.

The reaper eldritch demon would work well in that scale IMO.

Nah.. I doubt sculptors are...

the smaller scales are good when you have lots of vehicles or firearms combat.

What was it in Cyberpunk 2020 most gunfights happen at ranges of 25yards or under, thats 25cm at 15mm figure scale, or 50cm at 28mm. Doesn't leave much space for vehicles and maneouvering on your average game table.

I guess thats why I prefer the smaller scales for big combat with fast vehicles.

Even if you take into account the usual horizontal warping in games where the X and Y dimensions of the tabletop are half that of the Z dimension, it still doesn't leave a lot of room.

I guess that is why I've never had many 40k tanks as a teenager, but lots of Epic ones :)

Nearly finished by NAC platoon in 15mm btw ... photos soon.

Don't get me started on GW ranges, super dooper laser rifles have less range than a modern pistol when compared to the figures.

I used to run Ars Magica with 15mm figures for combat, 1 pace = 1 cm worked great even for those whose spacial awareness was off, they got the feel of long reach weapons really well and worked out why they couldn't swing 2 handed swords inside a building, so drew the normal swords instead, saved time and made things flow easier.

That sounds pretty neat.  We never really used 15mm for RPGs, but then we did do a lot of silly "heavy" fantasy stuff :)

Works better on a coffee table too  :icon_wink:. We were a load of lazy blighters, lounging in sofas, drinking, smoking and ordering takeouts.

I'm the only one left who smokes real baccy now.. dunno for how much longer that will be with the littl'un
