Skeletal Poses

Hi all, i wanted to know if anyone knows a good source of poses in picture form for the skeleton structure, i believe one of my main issues starts with the armature being too long in some areas. Are there any sites around with poses or pictures that anyone may recommend? Thanks!

poses of skeletons are hard to find.

someone posted a skeletal image they use for sculpting, which they print out at the size they want to sculpt, to get the basic proportions right, then pose the frame.

There's a printable pdf/jpg of a variety of sizes of armature skeletons.

The lengths are excellent with the Morgan  Keith pictures. I've used them. For the posing of the skeleton your main concern should be what happens with the relation between ribcage and pelvis and what happens with the Radius and ulna when the underarm moves about. Those are really the only visible parts of the skeleton once the musculature is on there.

Been meaning to make one poseable skeleton and take pics of it in various poses as a resource. I'll get round to it one of those days...

That one has since beeen bent so many times it's unrecognizable (broke in several places) so I had to scrud* it. A more sturdy design will be necessary.

Bodhi  you should make a skeleton like that for armatures and sell them, I know about 50 people that would buy mass amounts of them!

Not sure... That one is 54 mm. Perhaps if I made 28 mm ones they'd sell. But they would have to be fat to cast up, couldn't be as proportionate as this one.

You might find some poses here: example 1, example 2
or possibly even here (you'll also find some slightly funny stuff like landscapes with skeletons)

But surely somewhere on the vast interweb SOMEONE must have made a library of different skeleton poses?Animations even. It's not exactly a revolutionizing idea but rather something ALL artists doing the human (or animal)form would value as a resource.

I don't know of any links though I'm afraid.

I only have the free version. The extended version (which you have to pay for) seemingly has the posssibility to turn the models around and view them from different angles.

Thought it's about time I registered...

@Bodhi I think there are quite a few 3D skeletons in various poses out there, but most are for use with 3D modeling software or you have to pay a lot. That link of yours looks interesting, am considering registering for the free version.

No different poses, but it still might help some people: youtube. From vertebra to skeleton in about 5 1/2 minutes.
This medical images collection has some useful pics, even though the bigger versions of the pics are watermarked

Content Paradise used to give away Poser 5 free, I picked one up, and it has a fully posable 3D skeletal model as part of the basic models. However I don't know if they're still doing it and my eyes are too weary to search this late. *yawns*
