Flow enhancer rocks  :icon_thumleft:
The questions we should be asking are these:
Does it have dungeons?
Does it have dragons?
Does it have transients who kill things for money?  Do you roll a d20?

Well I use Daler-Rowney, which I can't complain about.

Daler Rowney for me too, is it just paint without the colour pigments?

gi6ers

No it reduces the surface tension of paint, if you are doing thin layers or washes it helps.

Just add a tiny amount to your paint mix, some people just add a drop of washing up liquid to their painting water which apparently has a similar effect.

Custom_Hobby

It has to do with the water in the paints. Soap reduces the surface tension of water.

"washing up liquid" is called "Dish Soap" in English.

I use Liquitex; I don't remember where, but someone posted a recipe for flow enhancer + acrylic extender + water, and I've been very happy with that; I keep a squeeze bottle of it handy.

I also keep a squeeze bottle of water + future floor polish.  It does a great job with ink washes.

Incidentally, in the GW how to paint book, they suggest using pva glue as an acrylic medium.  It actually works pretty well.

Never heard "Dish soap" before, allways called it "washing up liquid".  :icon_scratch:

Don't know the make of mine as i got two bottles and poured them into one big bottle with an easy pouring spout that folds away into the top.

It made a hell of a difference to my painting, lots more smoother, more thin coats and takes longer but the result is worth it.

I always have to mentally translate 'dish-soap' when I see it in articles. That'll teach me for being a Brit. Although I will be spending two months in NY state this summer, so I suppose I'll have to get used to it!  :icon_razz:

Yes, they have soap in NYC.  Or so I've heard.  It isn't obvious, though.
