Tomb King Chariot.
« on: November 19, 2007, 03:57:27 PM »

Ok I don't play War Hammer but I know that some figs have certain colors.  I am painting up a Tomb King on a Chariot.  What colors is he supposed to be offically?

*EDIT*

Changed the name of this thread to something more appropriate.

Thanks for the heads up.  I am glad that I started painting the chariot red before I found out.

Any one have good choices for tourquoise?

"Egyptian" colours. So turqoise/lapiz lazuli for the inlays or red. Mix and match. Goldy bronzey for the metals and, erm, bone colours for the bones :p.

GW Hawk Turquoise is spot on IMO. The red is just right on the chariot.

While I wait for my paints to come in I did a little bit more work on the Chariot.  I still can'y get the top right.  I am using a paint that hurts you if you try and rush it.  It cracks something bad if you apply it too thickly.  I might have to try and strip it if I can't get it to fall in line. :icon_saber:

Try to think it down (a lot) and apply a lot more coats. It will lead to a very smooth finish.

If thinking it fails, try thinning it instead.  :dragon:

Cracked paint might not look too bad for a tomb kings army.  But I guess that depends on whether it cracks or crazes.

I think cracked paint would look great and make them slightly different to everyone elses.  getting the paint to crack in the right areas would be a major achievement though

You could use Vallejo's Crackle medium, you paint that underneath, then the paint on top gets a cracked effect. (Although I'v never used it, so don't quote me on that!)

Matt this is noted for future projects.  As for this one I got it to calm down.   :evil6:

I have more done with this but I don't think I will be able to post pics this weekend,  besides I need to Spray and post Perv's finshed fig before I do any more with this one.
