I'm forever glowing guggles.....
« on: September 14, 2007, 11:16:37 AM »

As you can see the ugly Rackham goblin dwarfs wear a lot of goggles. Now an awful lot of these goggles have shattered with large cracks all over them (leading me to believe they're made of something tougher than normal glass). The "official" colour scheme is to paint them all green. Now I don't know if they've got some background reason for that or if the painters just like it. So I'm currently undecided between bottle green, smokey blue or smokey grey (although green and blue are more likely). You probably can't see the goggles on the helmet on the right but hopefuly all the eyepieces (and the big goggles on the left) should help you see what I mean. There are a lot of those big goggles :(.

Green woud give you the best contrast IMO. My favourite approach is goblin green with tamiya clear green glaze.

The questions we should be asking are these:
Does it have dungeons?
Does it have dragons?
Does it have transients who kill things for money?  Do you roll a d20?

I'm with gi6ers on this.  A mid/glass green would give a good contrast with the reds and browns you've got on themse dwarves already.

That picture was taken yesterday. They're a lot more finished now. What I need to do is get motivated to paint some decent sculpts instead of these monstrosities. But they're what's getting painted at the moment and that's the way it is for now :(.

I took a load of other photo's of them so I could start a thread on the gunners but none of them came out well enough to use :(.

I would choose colour depending on what they are being used for, the one one from the right looks like he has night googles so green for him.
