I was inspired by the Veireges thread and have worked on my metals after seeing it.

:clap2: Nice work on the cloth!
The questions we should be asking are these:
Does it have dungeons?
Does it have dragons?
Does it have transients who kill things for money?  Do you roll a d20?

Bungle

 :yeahthat: and the face too.

thats looking stunning mate  :clap2:  If you put as much work into the base as u have the fig I think u could be a contender !!!  You've got a very nice light effect on her, u should be very proud  :icon_w00t:

Very cool!

I would say you need to go darker on the metal's still, il put the pic in photoshop a little later and put on where about's, as it will be easier that way than trying to explain it.

Nice idea Matty. That blade you did with the female barbarian looked very good. I was thinking that if he does something similar the he will be in good position.

There you go.
Using the 75/25 rule iv pointed out where need's to be black and what needs to be pure mithril.
Blue: Mithril
Orange: Black
Where there's no colour is for the blend.

I always start with the point closest to the light source, which using conventional zenithal is normally the highest point, so in this case the tip on the top side of the blade. (I actually did this the wrong way on my model, because the sword was painted seperate and I wasn't taking much attention at the time hehe!)

Also you need a black line where the blade meets the hilt, so on the top side you will already have this, but will need to be painted in on the underside.

Hope this helps, if you want any more explanation just ask.

But I wouldn't mind having a pop at this model if anybody ha one for trade (Hint, hint ;) )

*EDIT* on the underside you need to do the same thing, but switch the colours, so more black and less mithril.

Thanks for the help, ill work on it later. Im doing some silver hem to improve the pop of the dress at the moment. I also was playing with the idea of tartan, but its eluding me at the moment for the areas on the jerkin.

For metallics on cloth I would always use NMM, IMO it looks more natural and helps give it a different texture to real metals.
Though that is personal choice.

.

whoa that's a friggin lightsaber, i didn't see that in the film.

cracking paintjob so far.  you need to lose the rock on the base at the front, it stops you from looking at the lower half of the mini and is a bit too big for the base.

purple and green inks are good for shading down the metal.

That's really how she killed the witch King of Angmar.

I meant to mention that last night (but was too drunk to remember, lol). Also break up that clump in the middle of the back of the base (your last pic).

I might just rebase her.. i added some silver trim (with metallics and it looks quite nice! ) Im going to have to work a bit more on the dress/ and the face/ and the jerkin... hell... only three weeks to go... should be doable!!
