I tried out a test model formy up and comming tyranid army, and the result turned out as a strikingly vibrant model. I'm prety happy with it (considering there will be another 120 of these to come, so I didn't want acomplex paint scheme), but I just wanted a view on weather it is TOO bright and vibrant, or do you think it will work (with his 119 friends)

The camo is excellent, i can't see a thing!

paint scheme works well for me. The red/green and blue/black parts are nicely separated* without clashing too much.
On a sidenote: I don't think I'd ever have the nerve to paint an army.

sorry, forgot to attach images the first time  :Doh!:

OH, this will be my 3rd army (not to mention that they are all hoards :icon_tears:)

Nice, think it works really well, will look great as an army.

Works well.
is the gun part of the creature or a separate thing?

If it is separate I would make it a different colour

From what I can tell his hands are bonded to the gun. There in a normal possition for holding a gun, but the fingers have sort of entered it.

Background wise it is a bio weapon which is an extension of the creature, so I recon a different colour would look a little off

I like the scheme. Perhaps a little more blending of blue into black but other than that it's pretty damn fine. Nicely striking.

Great keep it the same colour then....

background fluff... why not just replace one arm with the gun? it leaves the other arm free to change the magazines I dunno GW never seem to think things through  :icon_wink:

There is a darker blue under the bright blue, but the picture hasn't really picked it up (It's very faint and dulled, it was a rich navy blue, or regal blue for whoever uses GW paints). It makes it much less of a harsh change, going from black to navy to bright blue.

and yes, it's a little silly, but the entire race is designed to kill as it's primary focus, devouring planets and sucking it's recources dry to duplicate and evolve. And also, the gun shoots living ammunition, as in part of the gaunt himself, so it wouldn't need to get another cartrage methinks  :icon_wink:

Keeper

Nice work eyeolas.  I'd probably recommend you leave a bit more shade in the joints and folds on the arms and middle limbs, but it is a good looking scheme for a hoard

I think I might be tempted to highlight the red one more level, but he looks alright as he is.

Its a bio-gun - it grows its own ammunition.  Which brings all sorts of inappropriate analogies to mind  :icon_eek:
