6mm Zulus

After spending some time on my giant and not finishing it, I wanted a change, so I came back to my 6mm Zulus.

Let me apologise for the quality of the photo now - I just couldn't get the lighting or the focus quite right for these little chaps.

I've done test paintings of seven different browns drybrushed over black for their skin, and then the rest of their kit all painted up in the same manner, and I've come to a not very surprising conclusions: At 6mm it doesn't really seem to matter what colour brown you use to highlight their skin!!

cant really see whats what mate, maybe when sun goes down and less glare on the screen it will be better  :icon_wink:

I know photography can be a pain especially with something so small but I think you need to get better (brighter) pics.

but from experience i can say go light brown on 6mm

heavy drybrush skin.

chocolate is a good colour with a touch of a slightly lighter tone

I've just realised I didn't use the flash - which I don't normally use - but might actually benefit something this small.

I'll try and re-do tonight.
