Okay, whilst detesting the french game and their hideous sculpts I do find them compelling to paint (it might look like I've been on a bit of a blitz but some of these were started months ago). That doesn't neccessarily mean that they're fun to paint, I think it's a bit like the EvilAntiPaintbrushIronfangPikemen in that there is a strong desire to get them finished so I won't need to ever do it again (plus it's a bit of practice for painting the things I like and, whilst there may not be any drastic improvement or experimentation, surely every little bit of practice helps). Here's some pictures then (the title of the thread was inspired by a Whoopi Goldberg film).

These first three are a good few months old. There were three inbetween photo's but they're all out of focus a bit.









And here are some more up to date pictures. I'm still uncertain about this brighter bronzey colour scheme for the steam powered troops. Admitedly the "black & silver" ones outnumber them by about three to two but I think it's come out a bit too bright here and I could do it darker (or use the other colour scheme for coherency).

I wasn't sure about the skintone at first but after adding the beard it works very well. I like the bronze armor.

He's the only one with his helmet off.I'm thinking of buying a few boxes of them to field as a bloodbowl team. There is  reason why I'll be posting all the "goggles" mini's today, it's because I haven't decided on bottle green, smokey blue, smokey grey or anything else yet.

You will when I've sorted through the other 20 pictures for quality etc and posted them :p. The glass/crystal lenses in the goggles/on the helmets.
