9 Rota/ 9th Company

For those that like war films.... IMHO this is not one to be missed.

A Russian Film ... in Russian with English Subtitles.

9th Company or 9 ROTA in russian   is about the 9th company of the 345th VDV (think PARAs/Spetznatz) who believe themselves to be the roughest toughest troops in the soviet army... all volunteers in an age of conscripts... the cream of the training camps went into the 9+th company and they were given the toughest assignments.

the film is about the troops in the Afghan war that were sent to protect a convoy route in the highest peaks from Mujahaden ...

Its tough gritty, they used live ammo and real armoured vehicles for filming and it cost $9.5million to make (a very expensive nearly 2 hour Russian film)

Think of it as a Russian Full Metal Jacket.
