Which one? the first or the second?

I saw the first on DVD, and the second one at the cinema. I wasn't waiting for something good, and it was very average (maybe the action scenes looked better at the cinema). I think marvel tried to do a mass-family-friendly movie to make money, and I guess they managed to do what they wanted.

I'm very much looking forward the Iron Man movie (May 2008), and I hope it will be a Spiderman level feature, and not a Hulk or Daredevil...  :icon_ermm:

Ironman?  That could be good but if Spiderman 1-3 and F4 are anything to go by I will pretend it just hasnt been made.  Will wait for a review on here b4 watching  :icon_wink:

downloading a few films at the mo so cant view it properly, can barely post.  I will have a looksie tonight when I have them local though.  I'm glad they are making so many Marvel Superhero films but I wish they'd think about the storylines a bit more.  They should just make some comics into films but blend a few issues together to elongate it into a film.  I am hoping Apocalyspse will be in the next X-Men as hes my favourite baddie  :icon_wink:

Well, I can already tell you not to watch Punisher. It's really bad (I mean the last one. Not that the one made before was good either, anyway...).

Let's face it: most comic books would make better TV shows than movies. Spiderman being the first: the movies more and more look like a TV show episodes. An Avengers or JLA movie will be simply impossible to do. A TV show would be wonderful. I know it would probably make less money (and that's all Marvel is trying to do with their movies...), but there were really good things recently, storyline-wise: Alias, Lost, Heroes, etc...There are talented people who could do great things with comics characters. I wish Straczynski was writing Spiderman for the TV and not for the books, his Babylon 5 was probably among the best sci-fi we had for the last ten years...

If I had money (a lot of money...), I would make a Thunderbolts TV show be done. There are amazing things to do with this title...

Heroes is one of things I am downloading as it goes, seen 6-13 and 16 but need the full series to watch properly.  When it first came out they said you could watch previous episodes online so wasnt too bothered about missing one, went online and found you can only watch mini clips....left me waiting for the catchup weekend episodes but I'm still very patchy as not seen them in order.  I think the storyline is great and yeah youre right, these people should be influencing the superhero movies.  I skipped Lost, that seemed just too ridiculous to watch, polar bears on a tropical island?  Sharks with tatoos...I only caught glimpses and am sure that it does make sense but it seemed too far fetched for me to watch it.

I've tried getting Babylon 5 as from what I remember of it I really liked it, never seemed to download.  Guess thats one I have to buy lol  As long as I know its good I dont mind buying it.  Its buying all the lousy stuff that makes me download it first nowadays.

Punisher?  I saw the old on and yep it was a pile of poop, to be a good film it will have to be an 18 cert which would take away half the audience.  Would be best way I think though.

Thunderbolts?  new one on me, whats that then?


Saw the Ironman Clip Gi6ers and it does look good, was thinking it doesnt look like Iron-Man but at the end you see him as he should be.  It has potential, I live in hope  :icon_w00t:

As for Iron Man, he's exactly as he had to be. At the very begining it was a scratch-built armor made to escape from a prisoner camp.

The Thunderbolts title is probably the last good idea Marvel had in the 20th century.

All begins after the battle against Onslaught. Almost all the greatest heroes of Earth are dead (or supposed so, in fact they're on the counter-Earth). Of course, the need is great for new heroïc force: then appears the Thunderbolts, a brand new team of heroes. They quickly become mediatic and iconic figures under the command of their patriotic leader, Citizen V. All seems to be ok for a couple of issues, they even have a new young recruit, Jolt. And then we discover the Thunderbolts secrets...

They are familiar vilains in heroes disguises! Even worst, they're Masters of Evil, the eternal opponents of the avengers, lead by Baron Zemo, Captain's America deadly foe. After seeing the battle agains't Onslaught, Zemo had this brilliant idea, to form a little group of false heroes with is fellows vilains, in order to gain the public trust and make one big evil thing when everybody will be flat-footed.

However, there is a problem: partly because of Jolt's (a true hero) influence, some of the T-Bolts will have a taste for their new heroic job. Soon, they clash with Zemo, and their secret becomes public. They become outlaws, hunted down by order enforcers & heroes, but still trying to be heroes themselves. They have to struggle against their doubts, their loyalty and their guilt (they are former criminals, don't forget. Some went as far as murder).

However, some Heroes will understand that they really want to redeem, and at some point, the Avenger Hawkeye will become their leader while they are on the run. However, they know that they have to pay for their crimes to be recognized as heroes. When Hawkeye leaves the team and the Thunderbolts disband, Beetle/Mach IV (Abner Jenkins, a former Daredevil/Spiderman foe), will decide to do his prison time so that he's clean when he's out. He becomes the leader of a new Thunderbolts team, trying to gather some of his old friends. The task is difficult, and some other former vilains will join, such as Radioactive Man or Speed Demon (as well as Captain Marvel). This story arc, known as the New Thunderbolts, was written by Fabian Nicieza and was probably one of the best of the title.

After the Civil War events, a new team, government-sponsored, was assembled. This new story arc is currently written by Warren Ellis, and is very different. The team roster almost completely changed, and there are now very iconic vilains figures such as Venom, Norman Osborn or Bullseye. Of course, those don't want to redeem. the government is simply blackmailing them so that they become good hunting dogs to find and cripple heroes who don't want to register. Of course, there are some older members, such as Songbird or Moonstone, but the title is definitively darker and Ellis' aim seems to make the Thunderbolts as ugly and evil as he can, so that we have a real empathy with the hunted down heroes. Those are obscure, small figures of the Marvel Universe, like Steel Spider or Jack Flag, who simply rebel against the Iron-man-o-cracy. In the end, it's a pleasure when those unknown little heroes kick the a** of the "bad" Thunderbolts, which can sound strange.

However, it looks like the team is experiencing some inner stress: Moonstone vs Songbird for team leadership and behaviour, and "good", redeemed Thunderbolts vs "bad" new Thunderbolts. I almost dropped the title because of the way Ellis' was treating the team, but I think I now see where he wants to lead us, so I'll follow...

I know the character Ironman but dont know his story, looks like they are sticking to the original with that film then and can only be good  :icon_wink:

Will watch 300 over weekend, just watched Transformers and wow, thats good.  Had me gripped all thru, special effects are great and I love the humour in it.  Megatron flicking that human away near the end and saying disgusting had me in stitches.

That Thunderbolts seems very well thought out and very in depth.  Maybe once a few more films come out about other characters it will sort of lead up to the Thunderbolts stuff.  I hope they have a big plan and are co-ordinating the films enough so they can make them into a bigger thing.  Theres so much potential with their stuff and so much junk on tv...We want more !!!!!
