He took a Grimdalf body (http://www.hasslefreeminiatures.co.uk/pack.php?pack=945) and swapped the head with the one from Csaba (http://www.hasslefreeminiatures.co.uk/pack.php?pack=730).  He also cut down the staff.

Then did a stunning paintjob, of course :icon_smile:  The result of this simple, but very effective, conversion is something quite different from either of the original miniatures!

I wonder how much that would cost someone to do...if they requested something like that from you to do?  Ballpark idea of price..as what I saw, was awesome...

Well, not really, as this is my wifes decision and it would seem, like anything she buys, she takes her time....be it shoes, clothes or her gnome..hahahaha  She has different pics and ideas, but hasnt come to a decision.  I am just asking questions, as I have an idea for myself and perhaps a drow one..and I was just curious on prices and etc, for myself...  so basically, we got a gnome and perhaps now a female drow cleric/fighter/weapons master duel wielding kantana babe....hahaha

Okay, well back when I used to paint cto comission (1999-2002 ish, that sort of period) I used to charge £2.50/hour plus expenses. Expenses weren't complicated, if I ran out of a particular pot of paint while painting someone's mini, the replacement pot went on their bill. I'd sit down and write down the exact time when I started painting and jot down when I stopped. Then I'd add up all the sessions when I was finished for a total time. I rounded numbers to the nearest hour (or obvious fraction thereof since at £2.50/hour it clearly broke down into multiples of 12 minutes at 50p each and could be extrapolated to even smaller numbers if neccessary). I didn't charge for time spent applying varnish (and obviously not for the time the varnish spent drying). I didn't charge for undercoat drying time either.

With the drastic increases in my painting skills since then (and inflation plus the current unfavourable economic climnate) I'd probably want to charge more than that if I were to start painting comissions again but I know I'm lazy and I paint slowly so I'd recommend any potential customers to try someone else first (and warn them of my sloth-like painting speed).

Probably too heavily clothed for what you had in mind but Reaper have posted new preview shots of a female gnome character model (3340 front and back). I'm not sure if I like it or not. I don't like the platform shoes, the sleeves look a bit manga (stiff with few folds in the cloth in addition to being flared in a cartoony way rather than a more fluid realistic way) and the giant elf ears certainly aren't very gnomish. Also the legs look too straight for that upper body pose. I don't know why but they just do.

She might be worth bearing in mind 'though.
