Title: Tree House WIP
Post by: geronimo on March 26, 2008, 04:22:17 PM
Fresh out of the mould and still warm :)

In case it's not clear from the pic (grey resin is quite unforgiving in this evening's "light") - large ruined tree with wooden door, slate roof and chimney, small oval window and pitched tile roof.

Painted version in the next few days when I get a couple of hours spare....

Wow.. looks good. Must have cost you a bit in resin for something that big..

That looks great and cant wait to see it painted mate. Maybe it could do with a few more dead branches sticking out of it or maybe come with a pack of branches and leaves that make it into a living tree. You can buy packs of leaves and am sure branches wouldnt be hard to make  :icon_wink:

Yeah,I did think of that. It's a bit of a silicone-eater of a model even as it is because of the heavy gnarling on the trunk/bark and the undercuts beneath the window roof.Branches wouldn't survive the casting - though I take your point about separate ones. Might add an expansion pack to the shop at some point  - but in the meantime it would be fairly easy to do that if any of you talented chaps wanted to do so ;)

Thanks for the positive vibes - am hoping to get one painted up over the weekend....

Painted version photographed at last:

Will probably include a bag of small shrubs/trees (as shown to the right of the door and growing out of the side roof) as part of the kit :)
