It takes you to deviantART but not to his page and you get a message asking if you want to go to the site. :icon_scratch:

It worked for me when I tried http://eyeolas1025.deviantart.com is that what you meant?
I take it you are right handed, then eyeloas? :D
Good pics of hands :) Can't figure out the one with the girl with a necktie over her mouth? Is that just random, or is there something behind it?
No, those are just random doodles I was asked to do but haven't done in ages because they suck
I like the one of the necklace. It worked when I clicked the link that keeper put up, thanks.
I changed my links to Keeper's link so they *should* all work.
Yes I'm right handed. My dad keeps ranting at me to try and draw my right hand with my left. NOT going to happen.
Yups, that's mah kahtoosh

The mandolineplayer in our band can do that. He can also write two different things at the same time with his two different hands. And he's "righthanded" but usually writes with his left.
Guess that's true ambidextruosity aint it? Not the most common thing I've understood.
Those are nice hands.Keep it up!
Any pictures of sculpts by the way?
sculpts? I haven't made sculpts.
That guy is wierd! (sorry)

I couldn't know...
Try it, you'll like it :icon_w00t:
Or you can do sketches that someone may one day turn into a sculpt.
I draw strait from my hand, just holding the position for about an hour whilst I draw.
Oh god sculpting! Please no, not again!!!
Go ahead someone, sculpt my hand drawings

I'm very please with how this turned out, I wanted to try and not draw with big bold lines around it, and just use shading to seperate fingers etc.
I's a bit blury because I drew it very pale, so when I scaned it it didn't take in some of the scetch, then when I darkened it it darkened what it scanned so it is a bit, scetchy (diaginal lines shwoing how I draw, write etc. The lines also show I am right handed)
train yourself to draw with your left hand, you'll be suprised what you can do! i taught myself to draw with my left ahnd like Leonardo and my right hand to draw like Michelangelo. the precision goes a little but the overall effect is the same.
try it some time
Something very important to understand as well-there are no straight lines on a human. All lines should indicate to some extent the mass of the object you are drawing- even the creases located in the pad of the hand should follow the rounded shape of the meat here.
Drawing life is VERY difficult..not because we cant figure it out logically but because we cant put it down on paper. The brain fixes things as best it can and in doing so removes the realism of an object. Try measuring things to force the brain to keep it real. Does that wrinkle REALLY follow a straight line? Or does it curve just slightly?
Another thing: Keep white as your highlight colour. Not the "main " colour. You will find it gives you soooo much more in terms of shading levels.
And most importantly : You did a VERY VERY good job on drawing an extremely hard area. I work proffessionally and still struggle with hands.
Thanks for the tips.
I have isues with drawing too light, I know it neads to get darker.
I'll try measuring things, but I think of art as much more of a representation of realism, not the mathmatics of realism, so I prefer it to be slightly charicatured (sp?), as it drags me away from everything else I do (sciences and maths)
I'll have two pics up at some point between now and monday that are based on cubism for an art project, which will show a bit more of my shading, so I haven't been compleatly lazy
And thanks :)
I understand your point-heck, just take a look at any pinup ive done to see that some proportions can be played with :)
I just meant that a firm foundation in perspective and the like is important for all artists. I still regularily do scetches of my hand..or my MP3 player...or a mini..or anything that forces me to rip an item apart to see how it works in 3dimension/paper.
Again..no insult meant. These just struck me as exactly that-proportion excersizes or life drawing excersizes. Most of us suck at hands so only draw them when forced :)
I think drawing hands of is not that bad (I'll see if I can dig up some of my old sketches) but drawing them freehand is still just as difficult as it was before I had started drawing a few of. Guess it just comes down to drawing of LOADS of them...
I used to draw quite a lot but sculpting has entirely taken over so any examples I have will be MORE than eight years old. And almost ONLY practice pieces. Still lifes, pieces of wrinkled cloth, stuff like that.
I've been sketching all my life (as a hobby, not professionally) and I find hands are a particularly difficult subject. My art teacher once gave me some very good advice though - draw the negative space as well as the positive space - e.g., you draw a finger and a thumb, but you also make sure you have the shape of the space between them right too. It's something I try to do now when drawing anything but I found it especially helpful with hands.
Nice work Eyeolas :clap2:
Thanks for all the comments.
HUGE delay with the pics due to my computer that is hooked up to the scanner freezing every time I turn it on (5 years old not) so it is virtually unuseable. So were getting a new computer to hoot up to our scanner and to move the computer I am currently on into the same room as the other and making it a study.
Long story short it will be a few weeks before new art is on, but I will have a few pics by then so it will hopefully (we just started using clay, which is hard to scan) I should have more than the 2 pics I've done already (NOT HANDS!)
I snuck in to my dad's office and managed to scan in this:
http://eyeolas1025.deviantart.com/art/Abstract-Woman-66338520
(this computer doesn't like photobucket so it has to be a link, sorry)
This is currently being transformed into a block of clay, which is really tiring, but will look good eventually. This is what I'm doing in art at the moment, good old cubism (I hate abstract, but this I will make an exception for).
and this:

The first bit of art work of the term, and it is prety boaring, but I do like it, and shading is my strong point in art so I may as well show it off!
I got lazy towards the end, so you can cearly see the pencil lines in some places, but overall it is prety good, just another half hour and it would have looked better :P (I'm to lazy)
C+C requested
Very nice! Cubism... wow.. I don't think that would ever have occured to my art teacher to try with us. Awesome. I like the woman a lot, and considering I don't normally go for cubism, that's saying something!
Keep it up! I'm so sad I ever stopped drawing. At least I have my minis...
If you regret stopping then why not start again?
Laziness combined with the fear of not being very good :)
Everyone has that fear, every artist thinks nothing of theirs is ever perfect, you just have to get over it and say you did your best (or close, ish)
laziness I underdstand :)
Its true. Artists always think they suck. Even after being told I should be making big bucks I still think my own stuff is garbage- my lady now removes my roughs and work before I rejudge them lol.
@eyeolas I really like your hand drawings, good job on them.
@fabian What eyeolas and Baldemyr say is true. Its hard to judge ones own work accurately. I get a family member to judge mine and if not for them, I'd never have shown any off here or locally. Families and friends are great for encouragement. If you enjoyed it, don't let laziness stop you! Set up an area or a spot where stuff to easy to grab without needing prep work or searching out things. It'll help tons when you are ready to start again. :)
