Title: Mega Miniatures (DiscountHobby.com)
Post by: Keeper on June 01, 2007, 09:21:36 AM
I received a parcel in the post from these guys this morning with several nice piece of lead in it :)

I was expecting the minis to be a rather flat and 2D, given the prices I paid for lead from this manufacturer (event cheaper when you factor in the exchange rate to GBP), but I was plesantly surprised with I saw them for real.  They're actually nicely round figures - not the best scuplts on the market, but they are better than the (average) $1 each they sell for.

Most of them seem to be a bit shorter than most minis - closer to 25mm than 28mm, but the website does say 25mm to 28mm, but that's fine with me - I grew up with my Mum and Dad being a foot difference in height, so I think I'm more tollerant than most modellers about scale :)

Overall I'm quite pleased - although I haven't painted any yet.  And I'm likely to be back for some zombies from them in the future ;)

Anyone else got any experience with this seller that they'd care to share?

That's good to know. The preview pictures at Gamer's Quest have always made them look like pretty bad sculpts.

I think those flat colour backgrounds, with strange their strange and bold choice of colours really don't help the minis.  I'll try prioritising painting a couple and post some pics ...

The Mega Miniatures She Warriors aren't mega mini's. They're all Fenryll minatures.

Oh wow, lol. (http://www.megaminis.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=MMD&Product_Code=DEAL-0179)

I purchased a few figures from them and was happy with them. Good prices and the miniatures are good for the price.
