I went to the trouble of making a light box, buying a camera stand and getting daylight bulb's to improve my picture's and i just took these picture's that are allmost the exact colour's and shade's of the figure's with a brown carboard box and the camera's flash.
I didn't need to adjust the contrast and colour just the shadows and colour temperature. :icon_scratch:
The new one is on the left, the three on the same stand were my Wyrd comp second entery for Rotten Harvest II.
Well what do you think, any improvement. :?

Although I am not crazy about the sculpt I think these came out good. I especially like the basework.
This is one of the old picture's i took age's ago to show the size of the figure's.
They are small bugger's.

Problem with those size references for us foreign people is that we haven't seen a cent or a penny (well I've seen pennies but that was many years ago). If I used a swedish coin I bet you lot wouldn't have a clue :icon_wink: Luckily I have some of those display bases :icon_razz:
The new pictures came out great! Very crisp and clear photos. Paintjob is great to but I think I've allready seen and commented on the old pics. I like the Munchkins VERY much. Just the kind of simplicity that is hardest to achieve in sculpting - and which Steve excells in. Cluttering stuff with details doesn't show much sculpting skill. Modelling skill perhaps. But simple and clean figures take a lot of sculpting skill.
Unfortunately it seems as if it's the detail cluttered stuff that sells.
The new Munchkin is a vast improvement on the other 3 :clap2:.
It has a better depth of shading, choice of skincolour and the base is more defined (I'm not saying that the old ones were poorly painted, by the way :icon_wink:).
The one thing that I prefer in the old Munchkins is the shade of the trousers...What were you thinking with the new one :icon_eek:...garish pink? I know that the Munchkins are dead but I don't think even they would go for that bright a pair of trousers :icon_wink:.
A 1 cent euro is about the same size as a 1p and 1 cent if that help's anyone.
The camera set-up is much better and your painting has clearly improved! :clap2:
Richard your painting looks better with each mini you do! Those pictures look terrific and that base rocks.
I can't take the credit for painting the single one, it was Klute who painted him and gave him to me. :icon_whistling:
Give's me something to study and compare with my own painted one's.
The Picture quality is what supprised me, It was quick snaps and they came out great.
Richard you write up a tutorial on liquid bases :icon_wink:
very nice pics and figs. balanced light all across the pic and no glare :clap2:

Make base.
When dry paint base.
When dry pour on GW Water Effects to level required.
When dry pour small drop of GW Water Effects where you want the water raised more, such as were it flows round objects and to open areas to give ripple effect.
Remember the water is flowing one way when doing it. :icon_wink:
That's it.
Do one with pictures (PLEASE)
Will do a river base and leave space for a figure to be attached at a later date to some rocks or something. :icon_wink:
Thanks Wristy.
i still think the paintjob on these is good. I find photographing my minis the hardest to get right.
