No time to sit and chat, so feel free to talk amongst yourselves...
Mutts nuts.
As I said before I think the arrows are a little on the thick side. Mean's they'd hurt like hell, but probably not feasible to be shot by archers.
The cape and pose are tanfastic.
Oooooo I like this, a lot. Superb fig to paint, where is he from and did you add the arrows yourself?
I think the face is outstanding and the colour scheme really works well. The only thing I am not too keen on is the black lines around his "posing pouch". They could do with being a bit more subtle but other than that I think its a superb job. You deserve a large lump of cheese for that one mate :icon_w00t:
He's an oldie, but a goodie!
That's Heresy Miniatures Super Dynamic Big Boris! If you like this one, Boris is an awesome mini. Andy sculpted several poses of him, including a few fantasy football variants. Highly recommended!
As for conversions, I sculpted the cape and the shield, fabricated the spear and helmet and yes, I made all those pesky arrows. They're brass rod with paper fletchings, each painstakingly hand-glued. Or, my hand was glued several times, during which I got some of the fletchings on the rods! Boris comes with an open hand, so it was pretty easy to place that spear into his hand.
Yep, I agree that those bolts are a bit too big and they really detract from the piece. Its just I can't imagine gluing fletchings to a smaller guage wire, but perhaps I'll give it a try.
Thanks for the kind comments!
It's another converted Boris ( BERSERK BORIS #2 - SUPER DYNAMIC BORIS ) and he's that hard they had to use Batista's to slow him down. :icon_cool:
I like! Voted for this one over on the FOD challenge and it was the face that swung it for me as both entries were great.
He has got a fantastic expression!
Re: the helmet - nice use of the grass there! I would never have known if you hadn't said. ;D
Great conversion. But he appears to have a tree trunk embedded in his leg.. was that deliberate? :icon_razz:
Heh. Mind you, I made the arrows right after watching 300, at the IMAX no less, so they had a huge impact on me. Besides, I'm not sure if I'd be able to glue the fletching to thinner wire. I'll try at some point, but I see the point that the arrows are a bit out of scale. Anyway, they were much better than plastic GW gobbo or skelly sprue arrows.
Hes also holding a Goauld staff weapon... very useful for sci fi games as well! :icon_razz:
Heh,, just giving you crud* chedder.. jobs a good un.
