Title: Froudian Inspiration
Post by: Caerban on July 09, 2010, 06:34:48 PM
I narrowly missed out on a really good 2 foot long urRu head on ebay and was slightly gutted. So I said to myself, "Self, you could have a go at that. But mebbe go smaller to start with." So I did and this is the result so far:

"Visible" bits are super sculpey and the body is bulked out with cushion foam. Just gotta make some clothes for him now.
More WIPs and other bits of stuff available as ever on my dA gallery: http://caerban.deviantart.com/ (http://caerban.deviantart.com/)

Nice work :)

Dark Crystal is the film that got me started as a professional modelmaker....I was doing a graphic design course at the time, when the models from the film came on tour to our lcoal art gallery. Cue thoughts of "I could do that..." and before I knew it I was making models for a living :)

Do you need an apprentice? Not reet good but willing to learn. I gotta get out of my current job before I toss myself off the boat without my lifejacket on.

I'd love to take somebody on...desperately need to....but can't afford to pay myself a decent wage at the moment, let alone anyone else :(

Looking great! I have recently made contact with a puppetmaker/special effects maker who "Isn't that good at the sculpting bit" according to himself. We'll see where that leads :-) I have my hopes up
