well, I suck... meant to get the Sophie in on time, but didn't quite make it. Well, hope my entries are acceptable, but I understand if they're disqualified because I didn't follow the instructions...

what instructions didn't you follow?
1. no composed pics; I cropped and put both views into one pic. They want pure single pictures.
2. I linked instead of uploaded. They wanted the pictures uploaded to the post, not linked to my site.

I think I'm kinda spoiled, mostly hanging out on my site, but there's some pretty crud*py mini photographers out there!

I agree - there were four I had to chose between, your two included (but I'm not telling you who I voted for! :P).
What I don't get is why all the votes for the entry by josef? I mean it is a nice piece - as good as me on my best days, perhaps, but there are at least half a dozen better paintjobs there, and I can see obvious painting mistakes on the piece - what am I missing? Are people voting for the sculpts?
I just noticed this just now. Hmm. I wonder if josef has 14 friends that voted for him. :icon_suspicious:

I've got no problem losing these things to better painters, and I'm sure Dargrin feels the same but the results here don't follow the painting quality.
This isn't sour grapes here folks, I'm well aware that I'm barely in the top 10 on that contest but FFS!!
I am with you gi6ers. I can accept losing without issue.
The winner CLEARLY got allot of new member votes. Call it family members, call it cheating or just luck. His figure did not deserve the overall 1st place win.
Of course this just my opinion and if I am way off base here, please, let me know.
