A few things painted up!
Nice colors. The metals need some shading or a wash or two.
I wanted shiny, and it does look better in RL than in my photo. Should I dinge him up a little?

Personally I like dirty beat up armour, so my opinion won't count.
I agree with Bungle, if you like it then that is all that matters. Who makes the mech?
Perhaps washing with the GW Black wash. It will give you nice contrast and you can highlight with mithril silver to make it nice and shiney.

That's an old Battletech Marauder, overtly ripped off from the Macross Officer's Tactical Pod (Glaug). I think it was Ral Partha that made all those old BT minis. I've had him since 1990 or so.

I sold the majority of my old BT 'Unseen' (is this the lingo for the anime rip-off designs?) mechs years ago. I think I do have a Shadowhawk and Griffin (stripped and gathering dust - where I found this Marauder II), a painted Thunderbolt, and a badly painted Locust (that's missing one of its SMLs... grrr).
[GEEZER ALERT!] I played BT in jr high/high school, and got out of it when Rogue Trader released. When BT lost the anime designs in favor of the designs out now, I really lost interest. I hate those BT minis. [\GEEZER ALERT]
I'm a sucker for the chicken walker style of mech, and I have a painted CAV Dictator a GearKrieg something-or-other, and another for a game I can't remember - made by Dream Pod 9, had mechs called Mambas. Went through scale shrinkage a few years ago...
Yeah, the "Unseen" Mechs are my favourite too, but that is partly because of the Grey Death Legion novels by William H. Keith Jr. with the pics of the "Unseen" Mechs in the back of each book, as well as playing the game.
But the background got me hooked as much as the game itself - although the heat mechanic in all versions of the game (although better in the earlier versions) is a brilliant little device that prevents the uber mechs from becoming obscene.
Yep, I like that Mech best too.

Yes. The good old Marauder- we used to call it the Cooker. 2 PPCs(10 heat each), 2 Medium Lasers(3 heat each) and an AC 5 (2 heat I think) with a total of 18 heatsinks. The one I was stuck with ended up having the ammo removed from the AC to keep me alive(since removing the weapon wasnt allowed in our league)
