Okay, so today I had to deal with only getting the camera around 5 or 6 in the evening so I had to sue shadows to cope with the glare of really bright mono directional evening sunlight.

Look at that leg work (no inks were used on the armour plates):

And finaly, shiny shiny bright sunlight.

Nice one mate, cloak works really well and the axe head is well done and a nice green on the cowl (is that the right word).
Only minor quibble from me is i don't think the purple and light blue decorations on the axe go with the rest of the paint job which is very earthy and suits the model well..
Nicely done Balgin. Looks impressive. Is he supposed to represent a particular character from somewhere?
I had the same thought as Alrith72 about the pruple and blue, and I couldn't help but notice the eyebrows? Small matters, though.

I know. I was torn between painting some eyebrows n and leaving them looking all craggy like that. In the end I decided that painting a thin line across them would ruin the craggy effect.

He's
a (not
the, a) Druid Wayfarer. Wayfarer's serve the higher ranking druids. Their purpose is organisational. They can "teleport" by travelling along ley lines almost instantaneously. When they come they bring the power of storms with them which serves to rile up the local animals and get them in an angry mood (and thus succeptible to a druid's control) and they can even call down lightning to strike at their foes ('though not very effectively).
Wayfarer's are for th druidic faction in Hordes. They are cheap and nip about the board doing whatever they heck they like. And you can have as many as four of them (but that's only because big games double all field allowances so normaly it'd be one or two).
Not sure about the pruple and blue but the rest works well.

YOu realise there's 4 different shades of blue on those stones? Unfortunately I always make my layered highlights too big and the final ones end up being larger than they should. I should be more confident in the shadows. Can you at least see the dark stripes on some of the stones? The camera didn't pick it up very well.
My comment about the purple and blue wasn't about the actual painting of them which is nice but the actual choice of colours not matching the rest of the scheme.
:yeahthat: Exactly. Sure you could have made the shadows on them different if you'd wanted, but they look fine. It was the colour composition of the whole piece that both of us meant.
You know that's about the busiest fig I've ever seen this side of the new GW Space Marines!
I'm with the previous posters about the clashing purples and blues, but the greens, golds and browns look great! The red is a nice touch too!

You should've seen it before I converted it. (http://www.privateerpress.com/HORDES/gallery/default.php?level=picture&id=150) Those stupid little axe blades on the bottom were just taking the piss. They had to go.
