I had to go with Giant - I bought one of these from the classics range at GW when I got my first pay packet.  Needless to say, it is still unassembled in a draw in the garage - but one day ... ;)

I have one, too!  Sounds like Keeper, Medved, and I should have a Giant Paintoff!   :dragon:

I voted for the Giant (only because of Cheddar & Molars posts about minis on the way that would fit with the dragon). The paint off is actually a great idea.

I voted for (what do you know ) the giant.  The wing like things on the dragons head make it too goofy looking.

I'll have to see if he is lurking where I think he is and if he is still too intimidating to paint! :D

I think he's spent the last three years sat next to (and presumably terrorising) some 15mm Nap Ruskis.

Normally I prefer giants over dragons but this giant looks rather boring to me with badly sculpted legmusculature while I like the whimsical (goofy if you will... :icon_wink:) look of the dragon. So I vote dragon.

as soon as i have the giant in my hands (hopefully before the weekend) i'll think about the paintoff.  have a good look for him Keeper

I found the chap last night, assembled him and undercoated him with Halford's Acrylic Grey Primer.  I still need to do a bit of mould line clean up, and a little bit of filling with some GS.

I'm no Medved, but I think I'm up to having a go at painting him :)  You can call it a paintoff if you want, but displayed side-by-side, I think everyone is going to be able to tell the difference between my work and Medved's ;)

ta for that Keeper!  hopefully mine should arrive tomorrow.  the deadline i have to paint him for is the 24th of May.

do you think you can get him done by then?  if so then we're on for  a three way paint off  :icon_w00t:

Maybe - Mum and Dad are having both kids this weekend, so it might be possible!  I'll give it a go :D

It's the Marauder Giant. You have to paint it. Just remember to mount it on an 80x80mm base (a regular monster 40's just too small).

Mine was supplied with 2x 40mm square monster bases, which seem to work just fine.  I'll need to find something to break up even this expanse, so an 80mm square base would seem to be a horrifyingly large amount of base space just for a giant, Balgin!

I didn't meet my deadlines for Golden Chef or Reaper Wannabee, but I'm excited about the Giant.

not yet. sometimes is takes a while from the US

One guy actualy won Golden Demon by painting trousers on the Marauder Giant so well it looked like they'd been sculpted on.

Would you guys have an aversion to sending the minis over to be put on display at Games Day Baltimore? Just an idea :shrug:

I don't think I would - but you've not seen him painted yet :icon_wink:  Neither have I, for that matter!!

Although, didn't Medved imply that his wasn't destined to be kept?  Or is that a mental abberation on my part?

i wouldnt be able to send mine, he weighs a ton!  i will definately be keeping my giant for myself.

even more so after events in previous years. there were quite a few demons won with 'bought' entries (i.e. from poland or ebay)
