Okay, so encounter number 1 (or whatever we want to call it). Acolyte Werrin using a trowel as a (not very effective) dagger.
Present are Aurum, Rogan, Kiaphas, Ivor and Raoul. I think ALarian's present too (since he was involved in the fight at the elven ruins).
Unfortunately the corridor's pretty narrow.
Here's an initiative order:
Raoul 18
Aurum 14
Alarian 12
Kiaphas 11
Ivor 6
Rogan 6
Werrin the zombie 0
The hallway's got room for about 1 abreast but I'll do a quick map and we'll see how things go. Let's group it like this:
Group 1: everyone exept the zombie.
Group 2: the zombie.
Aurum attacks it with Axerager!
Did the characters suspect we'd be facing undead before we got there? If so, I'd like to have cast Shillelagh on a plank of wood picked up on the way. Or perhaps a kitchen implement?
Otherwise I'll stick to my sabre.
Yes they would have expected it by the time they got back. So grab that rolling pin :angrywife:
I'd stick to the sabre anyway - slashing damage bypasses damage resistance, while the bludgeoning damage means that you lose 5 points of damage off each hit. So long as the sabre does less than d6 damage, you'll probably be better off with that.
Please remember yellow for out of character speach :icon_wink:

wtf?
The entireity of all battle threads are out of character.
Its just a reminder about posting since it has been a while since the games were up and running.

Then perhaps I should remind you that I don't like it because it hurts my eyes :p.
It's a forum standard, but we will see what we can do
Raul will move and attack the zombie with his Longsword.
Unless he can't get through that doorway because of Kiaphas, in which case, he would do nothing this round - Aurum will probably be able to take care of it! ;)
Is orange any better, Balgin?

Not really. It's not a matter of pretty colorus or how bright they are. They just don't contrast with the background enough so I need to look that little bit harder and I don't like it. I don't see any need to write in different colours anyway.
Raoul moves and attacks (attack 16, 8 damage). Aurum attacks (22 to hit, 18 damage). Brother Werrin is no more. Which aura was Aurum using last? If it was the damage one then they each did an extra point of damage.
Aurum has his power aura (the damage one) up.

Oh, yeah. I was getting mixed up with skeletons. :images: In that case, out with the sabre! I'll also cast "Sharkskin" on myself.
Well since combat is over (and your initiative was lower than the other 2) I'm happy for you to hold off on the spell if you want.
Okay, now tyhere's a zombie in the scriptorium (it's the last one in the building folks).
The corpse of brother Erlik is prone (but beneath the table for cover). It also doesn't know you've seen it yet so I'm giving everyone a surprise round in which: Alarian walks over and draws his sword. Raoul advances, Ivor readies a spell (not sure which one 'though).
Raoul 20
Alarian 18
Ivor 14
Acolyte Erlik 14
Go for it guys. It shouldn't last long.
Saying apologies to the spirit of the already dead monk, Raul attacks the poor, re-animated monk.

You didn't roll damage as well?
OCC: oh oh, the filters at work wont let me access the page to role dice (stupid filters) sorry, im not going to be able to role on my own.
Alarian moves up beside Raul:
'i promise to end it quick, so you may rest once more.' with that Alarian attacks with his Broadsword. (power attack)

I didn't know if I'd passed his armour, yet :icon_wink:

That's alright. Just roll damage as well to save time (and posts). In this instance 'though, zombies are notoriously easy to strike. This one's prone and fairly helpless (-4ac) but he's hiding beneath a table (I think that's around +2 now they've eliminated degrees of cover in 3.5) so that still puts him at ac 9.
Does the other group hear the scuffle?

Is your character getting jelous he's not the one hitting things? :icon_wink:
Or burning them :icon_wink:
If the zombie still shows any sign of unlife Ivor lets rip with the Lssr Fire Orb.

Nah, 11 damage after a (probably 2 point) power attack that's also likely to hit's easily going to finish it off.
Well, here we are again. Fortunately there aren't many zombies left (only two or three).
The geust house is pretty small so we might not need a map. Raoul is in the doorway, the corpse of odd job man Varril is throttling Jondyn. Ivor is just outside the door and Rogan is close behind (Aurum's at least 3 or 4 rounds away, possibly still putting his armour on).
Initiative:
Raoul 26!!!
Ivor 14
Varril 4
Jondyn 4
Rogan 1
OOh look, I managed to fit everyone on a map afterall. Go Raoul! Hack it down!

...but where is the map?
I attached it but it seems to be missing, hang on, here we go.
Mike, you might want to check my latest Adventures in the Old World ooc post about your character's family. I found the random family tree generation tables afterall :).
ooc: sorry guys this virus has me on my back.
Alarian struggles into his armour and strings his bow. as hes not feeling so well he will take up a rear gaurd position and just fallow along behind the party, gaurding the back best he can. 'we should, now that we are all roused, move to the shed the abbot mentiond and equip ourselves with torches and oil.'
Ivor will cast light on himself so that everyone can see a bit better. Then he'll light up a torch & use it as an improvised flaming weapon as needs be. (He is the 'Think on your feet' Engineer type, after all). :icon_wink:
Improvised wpn.
Attack -1 (BAB +2, Small size, Non-Proficient).
Dam D2 (Bludgeoning, small improvised club) + D6 (Fire). Not really enough flame or magical heat to ignite target.
Remember - Undead have Darkvision, most of us don't......

Yeah but there's the light coming from the watchtower that's illuminating the scene relatively well (but it is still dark here inside the geust house).
Is Aurum there yet? At least the dwarves can still see :icon_wink:
Raul carries out a further sad duty and strikes to bring down yet another abomination.
To Hit: 1d20+8=11 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1644670/)
Hmmm. Not so good. Probably won't need it, but a damage roll anyway 1d8+4=11 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1644671/)
Right so Raoul goes over and slashes at it for 11 damage (and ebcause he's technicaly flanking it, it's only ac 9 :)). Ivor casts light and I'm 3 day rule'ing Rogan to have him move towards the building. Jondyn fails to break free and struggles patheticaly. The zombie fails to harm him (12/15).
Aurum is finishing putting on his armour (a bit rushed now). He'll be heading for the stairs (or diving out the window) sometime next round. I really shouldn't have suggested the window shoudl I?
Okay, onwards to round 2 then.
Raoul attacks and kills it (3 point power attack, attack 17, 12 damage , totalling at 27 - that's more than enough to finish it off).
LOL, no diving out of windows (at least right now)
Okay so Kiaphas heads for the loos and encounters acolyte Jurth (who drowned in the bathtub). Everyone else is organising equipment or preparing dinner (or heading for the bogs as well). Basic morning stuff.
I won't bother rolling initiative. Jurth gets a surprise round (getting out the bath) and then Kiaphas goes first (but we'll use dice after that).
Aurum gets up and collects his things. He goes down to the kitchen to see if there is something to eat.
Alarian fallows Aurum to the kitchen after gathering up his gear and resetting his armour more confortably. while the Dwarf rummages for food Alarian checks his weapons and eats, tehn heads off to the toilet to wash up and take care of buisness.
after that is sorted he will go the to shed where the oil is kept and secure a few torches and flasks of oil if he can.
Ivor will finish preparing his spells, then have something to eat. After that he'll visit the toilet then join Alarian looking for torchs & oil.
Rogan will have finished his prayers and cast Lesser Restoration on Alarian, then headed off to look for Kiaphas to do the same.
So whats going on now?

Well I might have to 3 day rule Kiaphas if we wait much longer :p.
OOC: *has an out of body experiance and possessed Kiaphas, forcing him to raise his arm and drop the great big heavy thing on the undeady thing.*
LOL
SOOOO are we calling a 3day yet?

"No thank you, Rogan!" Kiaphas says with a grin. "My god has me sorted." He stands, and the sickly pallor fades away at a gesture and a prayer.
"Let's see about this demonic thing before it does worse!"
Alarian hurries as he collects torches and oil , so he can get back with the group, as being alone isnt his first choice of things to do this morning.
If Ivor can hear the noise He'll go &. investigate
