Well, I'm nearly done with this group, so its really the tail end of a WIP, but I thought I'd share.
I'm doing this group as a warrior cult of Athena. It is made of Fortress Figures' Amazon range, and Hasslefree's Artemis
I've been jacked up on cold medicine for two days, so I haven't trusted myself to do the freehand on the last 4 shields. Otherwise they're done. Just waiting for the musician and standard bearer to arrive in the mail, need to do those, then the whole unit will be ready.
The whole group:

If you're curious, here are some earlier WIP's showing the shields. The leaders is based off an old Athenian coin, and the regulars are based on a stylized owl motif that a street artist friend of mine uses in her pieces:

It's been quite a fun project. :)
Superb !!! The shield in that first single picture is amazing :clap2:
Really impressive, skin tones are great and the freehand is spot on.
Amazing. Really nicely done :D
I like the way that your metallics really pick up the light.
Looks great.

gi6ers: the bronze recipe I use is: GW Tinbitz base, then GW Brazen Brass, then VMC Old Gold, then final highlights with GW Shining Gold, (the old one which is almost a silver, no available through Coat D'arms I think). Then washed with Vallejo Smoke.
cheers!
