this is what I think GW can be sued over. U cant release something as LE then bring it out as standard a year or 2 later.....

Coming in the box is the only thing that makes it limited editon now, i got the normal unboxed one's then one of these cheep as it's the boxed one.
With out digging out mine, i think i remember there is a cert on the back of the box with a number.
I know what you mean but its only LE when its in the box, take it out to paint it and it becomes normal lol.
I have one with a box. Mine is a little funky, though, the box says its a limited edition of 6200, and my number is 6411.

Suing them will only cause probs in the already unstable market, I'd like them to stop doing this though and stop producing the LE figs. That'd make the ones over 6200 rarer and more valuable than the ones under :-)
Might be a copy Cheddar, mine is number 5219 and you buy one of the unboxed ones to paint. :cm

I mean I know that since that is how many they are going to make it is limited, but the purpose of being a limited edition is to have something special. I don't feel too special when over 6000 other people have it too.

yeah 6k is too many. 1k per country and each country having a distinction from the next. US would have an axe, UK a sword, Spain a club etc

They are for the collectors out there. We have to cater to both sides of the hobby.
Yep got into collecting figs 18 odd years ago and still havent played a game with them !!!! When I've done my massive diorama I may get into it but probably wlll be too old and decrepid by then .....
But some times the collectable ones are really good. It sucks when i like the design of a mini and being ltd it goes for an unrealistic price. Personally i hate ltd editions as well, i refuse to buy them in general. :violent5:

I do hate that "ltd" can drive a price through the roof. I have been driven on a few occasions to pay extra for something I really wanted but that is rare. I did learn quickly that if you have enough patience it will come around again for a much more reasonable price.

like that funky chaos sorcerer on foot; I saw him go for about $100 on ebay months before they gave him out like popcorn at the gamesday events.
it sucks when its a nice sculpt, like Colombo, or its an essential gaming piece, like valten or archaeon on foot, or the gamesday black orc. Way better if its an alternate pose of an existing piece, like the shaper or necron lord, or whatever.
sounds like a plan. The collectors will HAVE to have it. And the rest of us schmos can decide if its worth our pesos.

Thats what I thought for Kyrie. Trophy Kyrie will be limited to only at the competition and there will only be one of each varient. Kevin is almost done with the regular version.
