Ray was right when he suggested that video can be art. This movie does it for me :icon_wub:

Looking forward to this too, only criticism I've heard from screenings is the over-use of slo-mo...but who cares if it looks good!

I picked it up at a local game store, but you can find it at Amazon -- http://www.amazon.com/300-Frank-Miller/dp/1569714029/sr=8-1/qid=1170704056/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-2160802-3724650?ie=UTF8&s=books

Well, I'm looking forward to it for a couple of reasons - firstly, the art and style looks fantastic, and secondly it's about the battle of Thermopylae, which has fascinated me since I first heard the story as a kid ...

BUT -- there were TWO movies about Thermopylae that were being made, this one, based on Frank Miller's comic, and a big-budget, live-action version of 'Gates of Fire' based on the fantastic book by Steven Pressfield.
That one fell over late in the pre-production stage because of the disappointing box office results for 'Alexander' and 'Troy'.

So I'm looking frward to it, but ... I really wanted to see a live action 'Gates of Fire'. Oh well...

Amanda and I just got home;  after going to breakfast, the CPA for taxes, shopping, book shopping, then we saw 300 at the IMAX, then yummy yummy sushi for dinner... what a day!  Now, I'm off to finish my alien...

300 was amazing.  It went really fast.  Extremely well done, and very true to Frank Miller's style.

Hope to see some spartan sculpts!!

I absolutely LOVED the movie.  Especially how the story teller-the survivor with the eye injury (based on a real guy who didnt have some a welcome reception when he returned) exajjerated proportions on things-like Xerxes being 8 feet tall, the 4 story elephants....

I seriously need to design/draw a freakin Battle Rhino

a BATTLE RHINO!!!   I highly doubt there is anything cooler then that.  Ever

I loved the movie. I have saw it twice already. I liked that they took a little creative licence but still managed to pull off the entire movie well. I was sitting there for two hours and I enjoyed it so much that it flew by.
