I just noticed that we were on a SMF forum. Maybe you already know it, but there is a way to add a patch to the SMF package so that you have an integrated dice roller function. I know it because I created such a RPG forum a couple of years ago, I don't remember exactly how it did work, but it was great to use such a thing, and a huge gain of time for the GM!
Maybe you can find places where to download this marvel through google, if you're interested...

In fact it was something that looked like BBCode. I don't remember exactly, but it was like typing:
"I attack this kobold. My dice roll = :diceroll D20 + diceroll D8:"
And you would get:

Yep that is why I sent that one to Chris right away (minutes after your post). He will let me know and if it is what we want then he will install it.

Yes the DM's roll the dice. This will make it easier for them to make whatever rolls they need to and also allow the players to make their own attack rolls and such.
I use the dice roller at www.d20srd.org, but am contemplating using this one: www.invisiblecastle.com, which allows player's to create an account, roll the dice with whatever modifiers apply and then link the roll in a post so the DM (and other players) can check it's been rolled correctly.

The d20 online dice roller seems to like rolling the extreme numbers a lot (the ones at both ends) but doesn't go in for the middle numbers much. That doesn't seem very realistic for a randomiser.
Any u use should be tested first. Cant have loaded dice in an rpg game :icon_w00t:

Yes there has been plenty of progress with it on the test forum. It should be uploaded here soon.
