Here is a few pictures of the town gate I'm working on. The idea eventually is to have an entire town, but have the whole thing modular. I may be overstepping, but why not. Go big or go home!
I'm currently in the highly secret classified painting and detailing stage. To show it now would just spoil it!
Hopefully I will have it complete within a few weeks.

You don't like doing things by half measure's then. :icon_wink:
That will look awesome when finished and i take my hat off to you for being able to do something like that. :clap2:
It is a great piece with plenty of vision. Will it have a detailed interior?
Impressive :clap2:

No, no custom interiors. I will most likely in the future wire it with lights and make windows from white glue. However, those are rainy day projects, and not vital to the finished product.
The lights will be a terrific touch.
How would u do the lights? I have one of the old Lego trainsets (Big Red Intercity) and this has lights with it. That sort of setup may be ideal to use as its completely safe I think and uses hardly any power. Guess theres equipment u could use from the model railway hobby as well?
I want a running waterfall in my diorama but I havent worked out how to do it yet or even if possible.....
Looking good :) Great vision you've got there - I can't wait to see it progress!
Thanks for sharing!
The christmas village shop has all of the lights you would need. Either from little lite string sets or light poles. I want te learn model railroad wiring, since that would be the most versitlie way to do things. Until then, christmas lights are small, cheap, and can run off of ac or dc.
You can also get some of the stuff you will need for lighting here: www.micromark.com
You can also go to sites that deal with doll houses and they have some good stuff for lighting
well just to update this real quick. The ground is all shaped and base coated.
All of the dirt areas are painted and finished. The buildings are painted and finished.
All that is left is the flocking, adding long grass and detail pieces, making the town banner, and finishing the mini's to occupy the display. I'm hoping to be finished within the next few days.
So am I, I really want to see the finished product.
:worthless:
I see a pic at the top of the screen.......when its finished I think we will see another.......and I bet its good :icon_w00t:
It's too near being finished to show without spoiling it!
Well get to work, lol
the model is done!
I'll be off to shoot some pictures tonight (weather permitting), and the will be posted in the finished projects page tonight or tomorow.
Sounds good (I have been waiting to hear it was done). Please post the link to the new thread in here after you post it.
This towngate somehow makes me think of the old Daggerfall video game. You had to climb those damn walls if you arrived to town after the sunset...
Great work, by the way. It would probably be great to have a Mordheim game in this!
